Introduction
Different tasks need different tools. Translated to DJing it means that depending on your style of playing you need different needles. Its quite obvious that a scratch-dj has different demands to the needle than an audiophile listener who doesn't scratch at all. The latter is interested in high fidelity audio reproduction and does not care much about needle skipping resistance which the scratch DJ relies on. This document discusses and compares different carts, needles and their fields of application esp focussing on the needs of a Digital Vinyl Emulating System like SSL.
