Problems with specific hardware

Some Toshiba laptops can cause problems. Most likely this is due to some flaky Toshiba added drivers+tools. Recommendation is to install Windows XP from scratch but not using the recovery Windows XP Cd. Instead just use a plain vanilla Windows XP, with just the basics to get SSL working (chipset drivers, graphics drivers, USB drivers). That seems to resolve the problem.
