Introduction
This article explains where SSL stores track specific informations.
Start
SSL stores track specific informations like:
- overviews
- cue points
- loops
- label color
- track volume gain
inside the ID3 tags of each file.
Advantages
If you move your files around, no info is lost, cause they also move around with the file itself.
Disadvantages
- One problem is, that if you use not writeable media like CD, SSL cant story any information to the file. All mentioned information is lost, once you restart SSL for example.
- Also, as the data is stored inside the files, your files are being altered. Some people simply dont like any app to change their audio files.
If you would like to see the ability to store these informations in an external location (database, flat file) please leave your opinion in this thread.
