Introduction
Some people have reported that their Windows installation has played tricks on them. After some months of using Window XP it became slower/dodgy/corrupt or whatever. In this guide we will describe how to keep a clean safe image of your harddisk, so that you can easily install this image in a few minutes without going through the hassle of installing Windows XP from scratch.
Prerequisites
For imaging your harddisk you need an imaging software. We will use the trial version of Acronis True Image which you can download for free here. This trial version has teh full functionality for 15 days. Within these 15 days you will be able to image your drive and also burn a rescue CD. With the help of the rescue CD you can copy that image back to your harddisk whenever you like, even after you have exceeded the 15 days trial period.
