How big of an advantage is using shortcuts on the mixer as opposed to using them on a keyboard, Can you get by using one turntable?
From Ssl-wiki
Using the shortcut keys on the mixer is loads more accurate than a keyboard. Using them to set real time loops, you find your loops are suddenly perfect every time. Same with triggering cue points, always in time, you can also retrigger several times a second because the travel on the buttons is so small, great for stutter effects. Also you can access the buttons a lot quicker than on a keyboard. Remember, when you are mixing and scratching one of your hands is on the mixer most of the time anyway.
Mixing on one turntable is made loads easier, because you can set input reverse to the footswitch.
