Introduction

Since version 1.5 users seem to have problems when they want to delete tracks or crates, although "protect library" on the setup screen is unticked. This article explains why.

Let's hope you read the release notes and giving you the benefit of a doubt, and let's recap the concerned section. Taken from the release notes

- Changed deletion of music library songs and crates to now require Ctrl or Apple key and Delete key.

That should pretty much solve the problem.

The reason why this has changed is to prevent accidental removal of tracks or crates . It could have also been achieved with "protect library" function on the setup screen, but then this would also prevent any crate alteration at all, including moving tracks around or editing tags. Its unlikely that you accidently hit two separated keys rather than one key (delete key) which is also set to error prone locations on some keyboard layouts, for example near to the cursor keys which you use all the time for scrolling in your library.
