Introduction

If you have an Intel Mac (i.e. Macbook, Macbook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro), you can run Mixmesiter BPM analyzer. But you're saying to yourself, "Doesn't Mixmeister only run on Windows?" Generally speaking, yes, that's correct. But, with the help of a little program, it's possible to run Windows application on an Intel Mac, without having to install XP with Bootcamp or Parallels.

Crossover

Crossover is a nifty program for Intel Macs that will let you run Windows applications natively without installing XP via Bootcamp or Parallels. To begin, download the demo version of Crossover from their website and install Crossover. The demo version is fully functional, but has a 30 day limitation. After the 30 day trial period, you must purchase Crossover if you wish to continue using it. The full version costs $59.99 USD.

Running Mixmeister

If you haven't already download Mixmeister from their website. Once you download the program, click on it to install. Crossover will open and install Mixmeister. Once Crossover has installed Mixmeister, navigate to the folder it installed to and click the BpmAnalyzer.exe icon to open Mixmeister via Crossover. It may take a few seconds to open. Once it does open, you should see this familiar screen...

Now, it's time to add some tracks. However, one downfall is that it doesn't support direct dragging and dropping of files, so they must be added manually. To do this click on the first icon at the top of the Mixmeister, which is the folder import button. This will bring up a file browser where you can point to the folder(s) which contain all your music that you want scanned...

Click on the hard drive looking icon to expand the folder structure. Scroll down to the Volumes folder and expand it. Here you will find your MacHD and any external drives connected.

Then again, navigate to the folder(s) that contain your music...

Once you find your folder, highlight it and click OK. The songs in the folder will be added and Mixmeister will start calculating the BPM for all the tracks...

That's it. Repeat for more folders.
